Our Task Consists of Only Executing' - The Way Sudan's Ruthless Paramilitary Group Carried out a Mass Killing

Militiamen laugh as they travel on the bed of a pick-up truck, hurrying past a line of several lifeless forms and driving towards the descending Sudanese sun.
"Observe all this work. Observe this instance of genocide," a combatant exclaims.
The fighter grins as he directs the camera on himself and his companion fighters, their paramilitary badges on display: "They are all going to be killed this way."
These individuals are celebrating a massacre that relief organizations believe claimed the lives of more than 2,000 civilians in the African metropolis of al-Fashir during October.
An Urban Center Cut Off from the World
Having held the city under blockade for nearly an extended period, from late summer the paramilitary force moved to strengthen its dominance and prevent access for the remaining residents.
Space-based imagery reveal that fighters commenced to construct a enormous berm - a built-up earthen wall - surrounding the boundaries of the city, closing roads and blocking humanitarian assistance.
